Pilgrimage

In Varanasi pilgrims step into the Ganges at sunrise, in Bodh Gaya monks sit under the bodhi tree where the Buddha attained enlightenment, and at the Golden Temple in Amritsar every visitor is fed for free. Then there are the marble temples of the Jains at Ranakpur and Palitana and the Sufi shrine of Ajmer. Hardly any country has given rise to so many religions.
