Nepal

In Nepal, less than 200 kilometres separate the subtropical lowlands from the summit of Mount Everest. In between lie rice terraces, villages hung with prayer flags, the temples and royal cities of the Kathmandu Valley, and eight of the world's fourteen 8,000-metre peaks. People come for the mountains and go home talking about the people.
