Manaslu

The trails around Manaslu, at 8,163 metres the eighth-highest mountain on earth, follow the Budhi Gandaki from subtropical gorges up to Tibetan-influenced villages with monasteries and barley fields. Because the area can only be entered with a special permit and a guide, it is quieter here than on Annapurna next door.
